Ikea has recently reported plans to have a more positive impact on the world’s oceans by proactively engaging in projects that will help to clean plastic waste and prevent future pollution.
The EU is cracking down on plastic pollution. On 21 May 2019 the Council adopted the single-use plastics directive which introduces new restrictions on certain single-use plastic products.
To raise awareness of the sustainable alternatives to single-use plastic products, the European Commission launched a public communication campaign.
